SEXUAL ASSAULT CLINICIAN

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinates all components of all sexual assault survivor related projects/programs;
  • Prepares materials, minutes, and follow-up for all Committees and related activities of the project/programs;
  • Obtains training on relevant trauma related counseling techniques;
  • Provides direct trauma focused counseling and advocacy to adult and youth survivors of sexual assault;
  • Maintains appropriate documentation and confidentiality of all direct services provided;
  • Assist and/or coordinates data collection, preparation of summaries and reports;
  • Ensure and maintain ongoing and effective communication between and among staff, committees and work groups.
  • Participates/assists as needed in any activities related to sexual assault survivor projects/programs.
  • Attends all relevant trainings for trauma informed counseling and advocacy services

Performance requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, systems and objectives.  Knowledge of fiscal management and systems.  Knowledge of compliance regulations.  Knowledge of computer systems and applications.  Skill in planning, organizing and supervising.  Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making.  Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with staff, patients, and the public.  Skill in developing comprehensive reports.  Ability to analyze and interpret complex data.  Ability to research and prepare comprehensive reports.  Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.  Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to speak Spanish is required.

Education:

  • Masters degree in Public Health, Social Work or related field strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health or related field plus experience will be considered.    

Experience:  1 year post Master’s experience or 4 years post Bachelor’s experience

Special requirements, qualifications, Licenses or certifications:

  • License as a Certified Social Worker (CSW) in the State of Michigan preferred.
  • Must have a valid Michigan driver's license and access to an insured automobile.
