WIC Program

The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) provides supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children up to age five who are found to be at nutritional risk. CHASS provides WIC services as a mean of promoting positive pregnancy and birth outcome along with healthy growth and development.

  • Monthly food benefits package
  • Breastfeeding Support and Education
  • Immunization Information
  • Lead Prevention
  • Referrals to health services
  • Certified Lactation Counselors

If you are pregnant, postpartum, breastfeeding or have a child that is ages 0 to 5 years old and are income eligible, you may apply to be a part of the WIC program. Learn more by calling our WIC Department at 313.849.3920 option 8. Open Saturdays!
