Ricardo Guzman Legacy Fund will provide a regular source of support for CHASS’ core mission of delivering quality,affordable and accessible health care for ALL individuals, regardless of income or insurance status. The Legacy Fund honors Ricardo’s commitment to the belief that health care is a human right.

Ricardo’s commitment to the belief that health care is a basic human right has resulted in care to more than 400,000 individuals throughout his career. Today’s healthcare environment threatens access to some of Detroit’s most vulnerable residents.

Support of the J. Ricardo Guzman Legacy Fund will ensure the availability of primary health, dental and wellness care for all users of CHASS, regardless of income or insurance status. While the Legacy Fund is in Ricardo’s name, it really honors the memory of his mother, Marina Guzman, who died at a very young age because she did not have insurance and could not afford the care she desperately needed. Ricardo dedicated his life to the ideal that no one else should face the same fate.
