Mr. Irwin was born and raised in Southwest Detroit and graduated from St. Gabriel Grade School and Holy Redeemer High School.  As a long-time cross-country and track coach at Holy Redeemer (20 Years), Mr. Irwin was inducted into the Catholic Hall Athletic Hall of fame in 2015 for his efforts with youth advancement and sports in Southwest Detroit.  Mr. Irwin has had a life-long commitment to the Southwest Detroit community through not only his coaching activities but also as a CHASS Board Member, founding board president/member of the Cesar Chavez Academy, founding member of the WAY High School, and as a former board member of Holy Redeemer Grade School and High School.

Professionally Patrick is employed by the Henry Ford Health System as the South Market Vice-president of Human Resources (Henry Ford Hospital Detroit and Henry Ford Hospital Wyandotte). Patrick has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Siena Heights University and a Master’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Wayne State University.
