Carmensita Buentello is a master’s level Social Worker, Community Advocate and Certified Interpreter with extensive experience working with underserved populations. For over 20 years Ms. Buentello has been an advocate for families in Southwest Detroit and has partnered with multiple of the local social services agencies to provide support to community residents. Ms. Buentello is currently working with The Southwest Detroit Community Justice Center and 36th District Community Court Program in conjunction with the 4th Precinct, a law enforcement diversion project to aid in the decriminalization of minor infractions and prevent community members from having extensive interaction with the criminal justice system.
In addition to being a mother of four children and a grandmother, Ms. Buentello is also the published author of The Women Of Southwest Detroit, a book on poetry and prose.
