WIC Program

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program

WIC is a Special Supplemental Nutrition Program that is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture.  The program serves low and moderate income pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, infants and children up to age 5.

WIC provides the following services to our clients:

Nutrition Education: CHASS WIC offers fun and interactive nutrition education classes on a variety of topics.  Classes are only open to WIC clients and their caregivers.

Supplemental Food: Clients receive benefits for nutritious foods that can be redeemed at any WIC authorized store throughout Michigan.

Breastfeeding Support: CHASS offers breastfeeding education and support through its Marvelous Mom/Madre Maravilla program. Services are provided in groups, individually and in the home.

CHASS WIC clients are also eligible to participate in the Mothers to Mothers Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program. This program provides a Breastfeeding Peer to answer questions, support you in breastfeeding and assist you with any breastfeeding challenges.  Services can be provided in the comfort of your own home or in the WIC office.

All services are provided in English and Spanish.

WIC is an equal opportunity program and employer.
